The Beginning

I began to watch the moon, notice her cycle, and my own in relation. I thought, why count only the days when night’s time passes equally?

In my understanding of the universe the story says in the beginning God created night and day. Story says, what first existed was darkness and out of it God created light.

I wonder if the first light was the moon, the sun being the more radiant light only after she had proven her design? Truly she is a light in darkness. Without her night would be a thick, rich void.

But this is just the beginning. I do not really know yet what is the meaning of the moon.

I call these Mystic Tales because my understanding of a mystic is one who knows always the strength of the moon, knows always what it is to have light in the darkness. Mystics know they must be present in darkness. Not to fear. Because God is there too. Because there is always a Light in us.

Okay finally found the comment function. I thought it was intriguing. It was concise and it gave a brief introduction of what the blog was about. It definitely sparked curiousity about the trends that you see in the universe and how that relates to your spiritual journey. Keep it coming. Can't wait to hear more!

A very wise Shaman once explained to me that the Moon is a piece of the Earth that was exploded into the sky. I too am in awe of the Moon and it's amazing enfluence on humankind. I have been taught that the moon is feminine and the sun masculine. The moon inspires the ocean's many moods, casts romance on the face of Earth, can unhinge unstable thoughts, encourage birth, and mirrors the menstrual cycle, the circle of womb and the life cycle itself. For surely, the cycle of life is circular and flows from the roundness and warmth of a woman's womb. Just as we are the Mothers of this World, the moon is the Mother of our Universe. I can understand your search for some type of alignment between our monthly cycle and the moon. The full moon always seems to affect our moods and/or mood swings; in both male and female. In astrology, the Moon represents Emotions, Habits, Family and Mother. Astrologers believe that the Moon dominates the child's chart during the first 7 years of life. So where the Moon is located in a child's sign affects that babies life for the first seven years. Perhaps some of your answers can be traced back to those early years of your life in respect to what sign your Moon was in at the time of your birth and what house was ruled at that time. The Moon continues to have enfluence over us, even as we grow and mature. I look forward to hearing more about your search and the sweet surprises you will uncover along your way.

had a dream about you the night before last. all i know is that you were there and i woke up wanting to reach out to you. what a delight to receive your blog.

and i am thrilled to see that you are working with bikram! that is the only yoga i truly appreciate and i finally found a place in north austin that has a bikram studio.

as far as the body as it relates to the world/moon/surroundings...i find it all facinating and i think that we people know so little about what affects us. yes, we may know who we are and what our ambitions are but there are an infinite number of objects in our environment that can have a biological effect on us. i recently started the school year again and after months of having a 28 day cycle, i had my menses after 20 days of school!! every year, when i come back to work with my students and other women on their cycle it affects mine, but this was a bigger change than usual. it's like the red tent!

i hope you're well. i'll definitely keep up with the blog!
